A local proxy app that forwards requests to a parent proxy with automatic autorization. Preproxy is basically an improved, sandboxed, Mac App Store-enabled version of Authoxy. I made it because Authoxy has been abandoned for quite some time and has started having problems since macOS Sierra came out.
The Change Settings button in Safari Preferences Advanced opens the global Proxies sheet. Changes made here affect every app that uses that connection. Most open source apps are incapable of reading proxy password saved in System Preferences.Hardcoding the password in export http_proxy=... is no good either.Preproxy accepts proxy requests on localhost and forwards them to the given remote proxy, automatically taking care of proxy authorization using the credentials stored in Keychain.
If you want to build a VPN client that implements a flow-oriented, custom VPN protocol—one that works with the data passing through a TCP connection rather than the packets used to transport that data—create an app proxy provider app extension. When the system starts a VPN configuration that uses your app proxy provider, it launches your app extension, instantiates your app proxy provider subclass within that app extension, and starts forwarding flows to your provider.

NTLM and Kerberos authentication methods are supported. Even those apps that do read proxy credentials from macOS keychain often don’t care to support advanced methods like Kerberos; with Preproxy it is now possible to have any app in the system to authorize at the proxy uniformly and without saving password at all. Kerberos is main authorization method in Windows Active Directory domains, so most corporate network proxies should already support it.
Preproxy also supports Proxy Auto-Configuration scripts that are commonly used in Windows networks. This allows command line apps to automatically use the latest configuration provided by network administrators.

Mac System Proxy
Is there a way to make AppStore work via a proxy server?
In my case all MACs behind Squid Proxy server and no matter what exclusions I make on proxy, AppStore won't purchase apps. All works well until I click INSTALL.
Mac Proxy Server App
Looking at proxy log files I can see AppStore getting page components (ie. jpg images) from non-Apple site(s), but it looks like AppStore's purchase process ignores proxy settings and trying DIRECT connection.
If AppStore ignores proxy setting, what would be the IP address(es) for appstore servers to add firewall exclusions.
