Sound Devices Plug In For Mac
  1. MacOS is outputting sound over HDMI and has decided that volume should only be changed on the device receiving the sound. If you want the audio to come out of the monitor, adjust its volume directly (or connect speakers).
  2. You have a connected, paired device, but the audio quality is awful. Try restarting both your Mac and your BlueTooth device to see if starting fresh eliminates the static.
  3. Using multiple microphones with your MixPre? Enable MixAssist to reduce unwanted microphone and room noise while recording. Sound Devices’ renowned algorithm, once available only on the 6-Series, 7-Series, and 8-Series, is now available as a plugin for the MixPre-3, MixPre-3 II, MixPre-6, MixPre-6 II, MixPre-10T, and MixPre-10 II.

VST and AudioUnits (AU) are the two native plugin formats for Mac OS X. Although there are other DAW specific formats for plugins, VST and AudioUnits are more common and compatible across various DAWs like Cubase, Logic, etc.
